About me and China

I am starting this blog as a way to express some of my thoughts about the process of our adoption from China. We have been waiting for a referral for almost 14 months. When we started the process in April of 2005, the wait for a referral was 6-7 months after your paperwork arrived in China. If things had gone smoothly, and the wait time had not increased, we would have been home from China no later than June, 2006. But, we had paperwork glitches that lengthened the procees, then the wait started increasing.

So, we wait. Today and tomorrow a batch of referrals are arriving. Once they are here, we will know how far referrals have made it though, updating us on our place in line. It is looking like they will get through at least 18 days this time.
