Saturday at the Zoo

On Saturday, Michael, Olivia and I met Jeff, Amy and Lily at the St. Louis Zoo for a beautiful day of animal watching! The penguins were the biggest hit. There is no way to describe in words the excitement Lily and Olivia expressed as the penguins swam past right in front of their faces. They squealed with delight, ran, jumped and laughed at them.

Next biggest hit of the animals was probably the monkeys. They were pretty wild running around in their cage and the girls were mesmerized by them. The rest of the zoo was okay for the most part, but a bit disappointing here and there. A few big displays were either closed or no animal could be found.

One fun part for me was that my dear friend Shawn (see the Tin Mountain photos) and his friend Hasib (sp?) stopped by for a short visit while they were in town. It was great to see them.

After Lily went for a train ride and Olivia stopped for a nap, the girls had the absolute most fun of the day in the Children's Zoo fountains. They laughed and played in the water until they were running out of steam.

Certainly a great day!
