Tin Mountain

Each year, we spend Memorial Day camping with dear friends at Tin Mountain. Not so much a mountain, just to be clear, but a big hill on the Little St. Francis River in Madison County. I could give exact directions and still not worry about you getting there, because it is quite the feat just arriving. As you turn onto a gravel road there is a "Dead End" sign. We go WAY past the actual dead end getting to Tin Mountain.

Anyway, the wonderful weekend starts by meeting up with our friends at Rosener's. We got there a bit early, so we took a picture while we waited for the others to arrive.

After a wonderful breakfast, we arrived on the river, set up camp and headed to the pavilion to wait out the rain. Do not be fooled by the sweatshirt, the pavilion or anything else that looks "luxurious" - there is no electricity or running water and the bathroom is an outhouse shared by the 30-50 people there. After the rain, we played, rode the four wheeler, splashed in the creek (a tributary of the river in the pictures) and generally hung out.

Olivia enjoyed every minute. She had lots of fun things to do, lots of new people to hang out with, and, a thankful Mama and Daddy for lots of eyes to keep her out of the fire and the river and away from the poisonous snakes.

The rest of the pictures are here:
